Pet Dental Awareness Month!
February is Pet Dental Awareness Month, and this month, at Hollybank Vets, we will aim to inform and educate you on the importance of caring for your pets’ teeth.
Your pet’s dental health can have an impact on their overall health, so it is important to have a proactive approach to this to prevent or delay the onset of any dental issues.
Throughout the month we will share a few posts discussing common dental problems we see in our patients, what you can do at home to prevent these problems occurring and what to look out for should their teeth need veterinary attention. We will also discuss our nurses’ role in helping you look after their teeth as at Hollybank all of our registered veterinary nurses hold the BVNA oral care certificate and run oral care clinics to regularly assess our patients’ oral health.
At Hollybank we want to take a proactive approach in caring for your pet’s teeth, rather than treating once a problem has arisen – this starts from their very first visit, usually as a puppy or kitten for their vaccines. Hopefully this month you will enjoy learning about your pets’ teeth and be more aware of how to look after them at home!
