COVID-19 – update 27/3/20
We have (again) been issued with updated guidance from the government and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. As we have posted previously, we are only allowed to see emergencies, but we have some further clarification of what constitutes an emergency.
Some examples of emergencies we should still see immediately are:
- Road Traffic Accidents
- Seizures
- Collapse
- Difficulty breathing
- Sudden, severe lameness
- Significant bleeding
- Swollen abdomen
- Ingestion of toxins
- Struggling to urinate or defecate
- Severe vomiting and/or diarrhoea
- Addison’s patients and some diabetic patients
For any other concerns we would advise a telephone consultation initially, although we may still advise to see the patient.
We are still unable to see routine vaccinations, with the exception of rabbit vaccines as they are considered to be at high risk. We will shortly be posting some information and advice on what to do if you have a new puppy.
If you have any concerns for your pet please do call us and we will do whatever we can to help and advise. We are here for you and your pets 24/7.
