Duchess is a beautiful Doberman Pinscher who deserves Hollybank’s ‘brave pet’ recognition as she did something not only brave but ultimately life saving for her owners recently.

After suffering with illness one of Duchess’ owners collapsed downstairs. He was unable to get help and his partner had not heard him wake. 

Duchess well aware of what had happened, tried to wake his wife upstairs by vocalising and nudging her in bed, firstly unsuccessful, she was not deterred  and persisted cleverly until she was awake.

She continued to lead his wife downstairs to the emergency which thankfully led to her owner receiving the attention he needed.

The paramedics advised if it were not for Duchess’ amazing response the outcome could have been very different.  Such a loyal, clever and loving girl who most definitely deserves Hollybank’s brave pet praise!
