Hollybank Veterinary Centre – part of the community
The staff of Hollybank Veterinary Centre are committed to promoting excellent pet healthcare within our local community. As such we attend a number of events each year which take us outside the practice. We will often be found at village galas or country shows and our vets are also guest judges at many local fun dog shows!
We feel it is very important to help people understand and learn about their pet’s healthcare needs. With even basic information about parasite control, vaccination, diet and exercise we can assist owners in ensuring a long and happy life for their companions.
As part of our work in the community Hollybank staff regularly entertain younger visitors on school visits. Children enjoy a tour of the practice, meet some of our patients and learn all about our work as Vets and Nurses. Often we plan activities where the children can have a go at bandaging, dressing up as a surgeon or helping to feed and care for our resident Guinea Pigs.
For even younger children such as reception or nursery classes, we will visit the schools and give talks tailored specifically for their age group.
Hollybank Veterinary Centre opens its doors each year to host our annual open day. Guided tours of all the facilities are offered by our vets and nurses whilst fun activities take place outside. The day provides an opportunity to meet the staff of Hollybank a take a behind the scenes look at all the different departments of the Veterinary Hospital. Previous events have seen bouncy castles, face painting, cakes, ice-cream and sweet stalls. All proceeds are donated to our nominated local charity “The Joshua Tree”.
